visual studio 2010 FTW!

Postby VJ-Jean-Luc » 06 Jul 2010, 15:41

Here's my latest gripe with the mighty MS.

Just installed their latest development system (visual studio 2010).

Didn't even get a real chance to test it as it buggered my system up completely -
- replaced ui elements so that the current ui wouldn't work and kept crashing
- turned off my user login so it went straight through to the desktop (without asking) - very bad practice
- removed all my sound system and spent the day chasing it till I knew what was wrong and had multiple installs and reboots

lots of nasty little things that it just shouldn't do.

Finally removed the crap, then luckily had a restore point a few days ago and restored and all is well now!

And this is the premiere development system, I can certanly see why everyone is deserting it for APPLE!

IF MS don't get their shit together, they wont have many third party developers left!!!

Removing span mode is really the joke of the year. Hey M$.. did you guys EVER use your own operating system...?
I heard there could be a nasty workaround with a modified DX dll, but still alpha. And there is still trippleheads.

Sure it can, you just cant merge 2 screens into one anymore. (So it shows up as available resolution in Vjo).
In case you wanted to output 2 signals at the same time, maybe run GUI on a seperate GFX.

so (just to get my head around this one)... If I wanted vjo gui on monitor 1 and vjo output on monitor 2, win7 won't do it?

You just cant run both screens at once in fullscreen (like 2048 * 768).
