Remote Control

Postby TemeW » 06 Mar 2010, 14:43

Hello!

Is there a way to control VJo thru network? I would like to have a projector close to a stage and I want to stay behind the audience and I don't have a vga cable long enough to reach the projector. So is it possible to have one pc as the client and control vjo with a server pc? If this isn't possible, are there any other ways to get the video stream to the clien pc? What I mean is streaming the output of VJo to the client pc...

This is possible, video can be sent via UTP with a freeframe plugin from BigFug.

You can also send video with composite, VGA or DVI and capture it on the second computer (that has a video capture card). The problem with all the options is latency and quality, so my suggestion would be, buy a long VGA cable.
BTW its also possible to control VJO, MIDI can also be sent via UTP or a long MIDI cable.
There in reliable way to do this without a cable of some sort. Only using a long VGA cable means much less hassle with other aspects of the show.
